Leah Gardner, 79, Leavenworth, passed away Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015, at her residence.
Graveside Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Highland Cemetery, Iola, with the Rev. Lloyd Houk officiating from Allen County Hospice.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Belden Larkin Funeral Home, Leavenworth, with the family present from 6 to 8 o’clock.
Leah was born July 19, 1935, in Iola, the daughter of Herman E. and Ethel (Savage) Webber.
She graduated from Iola High School and then attended college, receiving her associates degree as a registered X-ray technician.
She married Donald Lee Gardner on Dec. 21, 1951, and he preceded her in death on July 17, 1969. She then married Robert Allen and he preceded her in death on May 24, 1997.
Leah was employed for many years as a registered X-ray technician at Munson Army Hospital, Leavenworth, and Cushing Hospital.
Leah enjoyed doing crafts, knitting, sewing, cooking and always enjoyed being with family. She was known to be so loving, selfless and courageous.
She is survived by one daughter, Vicky Lynne Crawford and husband Gary, Leavenworth; three sons, Michael Lane Gardner, Leavenworth, Russell Leon Gardner and wife Debra and James Herman Gardner and wife Jaci, Kansas City, Kan.; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; one sister, Beulah Nadine Dimperio; and two sisters-in-law, Lola Webber and Clara Webber; and a brother-in-law, Jack Earl.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Earl, and four brothers, Herman Jr., Lloyd, Roy and Don.
