Lawrence Everett Murray, 81, of Kansas City and formerly of Piqua died Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010.
He was born Aug. 17, 1929, in Piqua, to Alvin and Elizabeth T. (Bux) Murray.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Elizabeth Ann (Betty Womack) Murray of the home; a brother, Don, and a sister, Elizabeth Fern Murray, both of Iola; six children, Jane Vazquez, Patricia Soptic, Karen Harris, William Murray, Deborah Headrick and Joseph Murray; 15 grandchildren, Michael and James Vazquez, Diana Ausmus, Michelle Ferro, Brian Harris, Amanda Tucker, Clint Harris, Lawrence C. Murray, Benjamin Murray, Scott Murray and Phillip Headrick; and nine great-grandchildren.
His sisters, Kathleen Wade and Judy and Mary Margaret Murray, and brothers, William and Raymond, died earlier.
Visitation is today until 8 p.m. at Butler Funeral Home, 1844 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City. Rosary will be said at 7 o’clock.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter’s Cathedral Catholic Church, 416 N. 14 St., Kansas City, KS 66102. Interment will be in Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
