Krista Carie Bruner Grogg, 35, of Yates Center died Monday, April 5, 2010, from injuries she received in an automobile accident north of Yates Center.
She was born Nov. 10, 1974, in Iola, the daughter of Michael L. and Linda Lea (Chriestenson) Bruner. She grew up in Neosho Falls and graduated from Yates Center High School in 1993. In 1996, she earned a nursing degree from the Mary Grimes School of Nursing at Neosho County Community College. She had worked as a registered nurse and as director of nursing at a number of local hospitals and nursing homes.
On March 6, 1999, she married Scott W. Grogg. She was a member of Neosho Falls United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her three children, Skyler Claibourn, 16, Richard Dale Grogg, 10 and Emma Lea Grogg, 5, and their father, Scott, all of the home; her father and stepmother, Mike and Sharon Bruner, Neosho Falls; a brother, Jay Bruner, Neosho Falls; three sisters, Rebecca Spencer and her husband, Jamie, rural Iola, Angela Whitney and her husband, Tad, rural Piqua, and Robin Tinsley, Kansas City; a stepsister, Tanya Vail and her husband, Larry, Olathe; Skyler’s father, Jason Claibourn, Coyville; her grandparents, Juanita Chriestenson and Richard Bruner, both of Neosho Falls; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her mother, Linda Bruner, and grandparents, Charley Chriestenson and Violet Bruner, died earlier.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapels in Iola.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Neosho Falls United Methodist Church. The Rev. Trudy Kenyon Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in Cedarvale Cemetery in Neosho Falls.
