Kim Denise Enaboifo, 56, Iola, was welcomed home by God on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016.
Kim was youngest of five children born to Wilbur and Betty (Borror) Riley. She was born on May 12, 1960, in Chanute. Her family moved to Iola in 1968 from Chanute. In 1978 Kim married Clement Enaboifo. This union was blessed with one daughter, Tanika. They later divorced. Kim later met her longtime companion, Michael Rogers, and they were blessed with a daughter, Shanele. Following God’s calling, Kim took care of the elderly in nursing homes in Iola, Humboldt and Burlington for over 30 years. Her work in the health care field began as a nurse’s aide, and concluded with her following her passion for cooking to the kitchen, eventually becoming the dietary department manager. Cooking was more than her job it was one of her life’s missions, she truly loved feeding people. Kim valued family very much and her cats and dog were very important to her. She enjoyed sharing laughter and smiles with people, even strangers. She was a nurturer to many and always put others over herself.
Kim was preceded in death by her father, Wilbur Riley; longtime companion, Michael Rogers; brother, Jack Riley; infant brother, Jerry Riley; and infant sister, Teresa Riley.
She is survived by two daughters, Shanele Enaboifo, Iola, and Tanika Keagle and husband Ryan, Suffolk, Va.; three grandchildren, Marcel, William “Tae” and Brennan; mother, Betty Riley, Iola; sister, Susan Sullivan and husband Rickey, Iola, and several nieces and nephews as well as numerous other “adopted” family members who knew her as “Mama Kim.”
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service in Iola. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to ASRS (American Society of Retina Specialists) and left in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be left at www.feuerbornfuneral.com.
