Kelly E. Troxel, 62, passed away on Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, at Winter Haven hospital in Florida. Kelly was born Jan. 31, 1951, at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita. He graduated from Moran High School in 1969 and went on to become an over the road truck driver. He earned the C.B. handle of “Bull Fighter” from his fellow truck drivers because a large bull had wandered in front of his truck and met his demise.
Kelly married Barbara Maness at his parents’ home. They were later divorced. He is survived by his mother, Francie Troxel, four children, Angela Collins and husband Rick, Hesston, Mischelle, Brian and Eddy, Newton; one granddaughter; five grandsons; one sister, Cindy Beckmon and husband Billy; three brothers, Kerry and his wife, Donna, Pete and Jimmy.
His father, Floyd “Pete,” preceded him death.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at St. Luke Evangelical Church, 808 Sixth St., Newton.
Kelly will be missed greatly by relatives and friends.10:02:37
