Katherine D. (Knox) Setter, 91, of Humboldt died Saturday, April 10, 2010, at Pinecrest Nursing Home in Humboldt.
She was born Aug. 19, 1918, at Knox Knoll Farm in rural Humboldt, the daughter of Samuel Miles and Mabel Lula (Davis) Knox II. She graduated from Humboldt High School in 1936 and attended Kansas State University for two years.
She was married to Ambrose J. Setter on Dec. 11, 1941, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Iola. He preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker and also a site manager of nutrition in Kincaid working with seniors. She also served on Kincaid city council.
She is survived by eight sons, James J., Phil R., Bernard M., Gregory L., John R., Bruce F., Charles E. and Stephen D.; 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A brother, Miles Knox, and sisters, Mabel Ruth Russell, Ada Helen Wilson Winder and Anna Ripper, died earlier.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Humboldt. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at the church in Humboldt.
