Julia (Stout) Shores, 83, Iola, died Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, at Windsor Place in Iola.
Julia was born June 15, 1931, in rural Erie, the daughter of John and Martha (Smith) Elliott. She married Orville Stout Feb. 16, 1960, and he preceded her in death Dec. 31, 1994. Julia and Keith Shores were married April 2, 2014.
Julia retired from Haldex in Iola. She was a member of Community Baptist Church in Iola. She enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Her husband survives, as do three sons, Robert Stout, Iola, Lowell Daniels and Steve Daniels, both of Wichita; a stepson, John Shores, Iola; a stepdaughter, Debbie Logan, Iola; a brother, Ivan Elliott, Gas; a sister, Betty Clements, Erie; a special caregiver, nephew Jerold Elliott Jr., six grandchildren, Rodney Stout, Robby Stout, Eric Ott, Stacy Ott, Curtis Daniels and Hayley Westerman; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Linda Ott and Janie Daniels; daughter-in-law Vicky Stout; son-in-law Floyd Ott; stepsons Ronald and David Stout; stepdaughter Jeanette Stout; and brothers Marvin Elliott and Jerold Elliott Sr.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery.
