Joey Smith

Joey Donald Smith, 59, of Tulsa, Okla., passed away Saturday, April 20, 2019, at his home, surrounded by family and friends.

Joey was born on Nov. 25, 1959, in Iola to Donald E. Smith and Judy Dobbs. He grew up in Moran, where he attended Marmaton Valley Junior Senior High and graduated on May 18, 1977.

He later moved to Tulsa, where he worked at St. Francis Hospital of Tulsa for 20 years as a transcriptionist.

Joey is survived by his father, Donald Smith, and wife, Myrlanne Smith of Moran; mother, Judy Dobbs and husband Mike of Fritch, Texas; brother Jim Smith and wife, Jenise, of Tulsa; sister Carla Hufferd and husband, Bruce, of Stuart, Okla.; sister, Lisa Beuke and husband, Roy, of Fritch, Texas; sister Julie Ramsey and husband, Chet, of Fritch, Texas; lifelong friend Chris Bunting; and multiple nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Joey was preced in death by his nephew, Benjamin Smith; his grandparents, Arno and Hope Smith.

There will be a private family inurnment, where Joey will be laid to rest at the Moran Cemetery.
