Wilma Joan (Larson) Emig, 78, of Iola died Monday, July 5, 2010, at Labette Health in Parsons.
She was born Nov. 15, 1931 on a family farm west of Savonburg to Elmer F. and Emma (Pierson) Larson. She grew up near Savonburg, attended Wannersburg School and graduated from Grant Township Rural High School in Stark.
She was confirmed in 1944 at Savonburg Covenant Church.
She lived in Kansas City prior to her marriage to Arthur Blaine Lloyd on Nov. 27, 1964. They lived in Clay Center. He is deceased.
On Nov. 19, 1988, she married Robert Emig and moved to rural Solomon. They retired and moved to Salina in 2005. Their marriage ended in divorce.
She had lived at Guest Home Estates/Iola Nursing Center in Iola since 2006.
She is survived by a brother, Leon Larson and his wife, Virginia, Savonburg; a nephew, David Larson, Olathe; two nieces, Natalie Klubek and her husband, Kelly, Iola, and Julie Cook and her husband, Kevin, Topeka; and four great-nieces.
A sister, Ramona, died earlier.
She will lie in state Wednesday and Thursday at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapels in Iola.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Evangelical Covenant Church west of Savonburg. The Rev. John Vogel will officiate. Burial will be in Swedish Cemetery west of Savonburg.
