James Fredrick “Jim” Evans, 48, of Iola died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010, at Kindred Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.
He was born Sept. 11, 1961, in Independence, the son of Solomon A. and Barbara E. (George) Evans. He grew up in Iola where he attended school. He traveled working construction.
He enjoyed music, motorcycles and outdoor activities.
He is survived by three daughters, Tabitha Coykendall, Rachel Harrington and Heidi Coykendall and her husband, Joshua, all of Humboldt; his parents, Solomon and Leinetta Evans, Yates Center; a brother, Jon and his wife, Lori, Moran; eight grandchildren, Alexis, Kyle and Dylan Doolittle, Isaac Vink, Drake and Jacob Harrington and Hunter and Faith Coykendall; and a nephew and two nieces, Solomon Aaron Evans, Diann Utley and Jennifer Evans.
His mother, Barbara Evans, died earlier.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Yates Center United Methodist Church. The Rev. Russ Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in Moran Cemetery.
