James E. “Jim” Butler, 50, Iola, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014, at his home.
Jim was born June 23, 1964, in Chanute, the son of Robert E. and Lorene M. (Morris) Butler. He graduated from Iola High School. Jim worked for Rolco Manufacturing, Young’s Welding, Johnny Womack, and then 2R Tool and Machine Shop before ill health forced his retirement. He was married to Wendy Hurlock on March 20, 1987, and she preceded him in death on Nov. 8, 2008.
He is survived by his mother, Lorene Butler, Iola; a brother, Alan Butler, Iola; a sister, Roberta Ellis and husband, Curtis, Iola; two nieces, Michelle Layne and Jessica Butler, one great-niece, Callie, and a great-nephew, Brody.
Jim was preceded in death by his father.
Cremation has taken place and inurnment will be in Highland Cemetery. A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Satuday at Townhouse West. Memorials may be made to Allen County Hospice.
