Iolan Jeffery Lynn Miller, 57, died Monday, Dec. 15, 2014, at his home.
He was born Jan. 19, 1958, in Pittsburg. He married Kathy Barker on July 12, 1980, in Fort Scott, where they made their home. They moved to Aurora, Ill., for eight years and to Iola in 1990.
Jeffery was a machinist by trade and devoted husband and father. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and spending time with family and friends.
God was his strength and salvation.
His wife survives, as do sons, Jeremiah and Derrick Miller; a sister, Desiree Edwards, Pittsburg; grandson, Christian Jesus Alvarez; father-in-law, Bobbie and wife Susan, Florida; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Darla Swanson, Bobby Barker, Kevin Barker, Cathy Sexton, Brenda White and their families; nieces and nephews, Chris, Cody, Adam, Amber, Justin, Sarah, Megan, Mason and Tay; and several close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Barbara (Seibert) Miller; and a sister, Teresa Minerd.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. John’s Catholic Church in Iola.
Memorials to help defray the cost of services can be made in his name to Wesley United Methodist Church, or left at St. John’s during the service.
