Alice Jean Morris, “Jeanie” to most, passed away Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017, at Via Christi Saint Francis Hospital in Wichita.
She was born Aug. 10, 1947 in Chanute, to Lloyd and Anna (Wade) Booe. She grew up in western Kansas, Chanute and Humboldt. She worked in restaurants, the Tyson chicken plant, Allen County Hospital, housekeeping and caring for her son. She enjoyed playing bingo, shopping, spending time with her family, and collecting angels.
She is survived by three children, Becky Morris, Iola, Danny Morris, of the home, and Brian Morris and Cristie, Yates Center; two grandsons, Brendon and Shawn Morris, Yates Center; three granddaughters, Elizabeth, Brianna and Eden; one great-granddaughter, Agitha; two sisters, Sandy Hurst and husband Richard, Humboldt, and Nancy Culbertson, Moran; two brothers, Rick Booe and wife Vickie, Humboldt, and Rex Booe, Larned; and an uncle, Johnny Wade, Clinton, Ark.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Danny Bruce Booe; a grandson, Nathaniel; two great nieces and a great nephew.
Visitation will take place 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 U.S. 54, Iola. A graveside memorial service will take place at a later date at Mount Hope Cemetery in Humboldt.
