Former Iolan John R. “Jack” Robinson, 91, of Kalispell, Mont., died Wednesday, March 17, 2010, in Eureka, Mont.
He was born Jan. 24, 1919, in Ottawa, to Rhett and Jessie Knox Robinson. He grew up in and graduated from Olathe High School in 1936. 
On Feb. 8, 1942, he married Betty Davidson in Gardner. He served as an instructor in the U.S. Navy during World War II. They lived in Iola from 1954 to 1985. They retired to the Kansas City area from 1985 to 2007 when they moved to Kalispell. He was an avid golfer and liked to play bridge.
Survivors include his wife of Kalispell; a daughter, Jackie Robinson and her husband, Jerry Wyatt, Eureka; two grandchildren, Serge Traylor, St. Louis, Mo., and Bevin Traylor, Denver, Colo.; a twin sister, Mary Tollefson, Overland Park; and numerous nieces and nephews. 
Private family services are planned.
