Dr. Jack L. Guilliams, 67, Mt. Gretna, Pa., and formerly of Iola, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2015, at home with his family. He was the loving husband of Margaret S. Burk Guilliams. On Sept. 16 they would have celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary.
Born in Casper, Wyo., on Oct. 27, 1947, he was the son of the late Welborn and Edith Romine Guilliams. He was nominated for the Jaycees Most Outstanding Young Man Award in Kansas, where he started his first practice. In 1973, he opened the Fredericksburg Chiropractic Center, where he served his community for 40 years, retiring in the spring of 2013. He was a founding member of the Fredericksburg Library, a member of the Fredericksburg Fire Co., the Fredericksburg Lion’s Club, and volunteered at the Earl Wenger baseball field and the Hinklefest. He served on the Fredericksburg Sewer and Water Authority and the Pennsylvania State Board of Examiners for Chiropractic.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Dawn, wife of Danny Miller of Jonestown, Leigh, wife of Eric Dietz of Plymouth, Minn., Kara, wife of Michael Tshudy, Indiana, Pa., Janel, wife of Michael Burns, Stevensville, Md., Brooke Guilliams, Hershey, Pa., Tamara Guilliams, Long Island, N.Y., and Sean, husband of Jackie Guilliams, Sinking Spring, Pa.; grandchildren Alexis, Connor and Logan Tshudy, Kayla and Brandi Guilliams, Carter, Nolan, Lyla, and Quinn Burns, Ty Guilliams, and Cayden and Mason Guilliams; sister, Jo Guilliams Greer, wife of Bob Greer, Leesburg, Fla.; sister-in-law Emily Guilliams, wife, of the late William “Jesse” Guilliams of Lebanon; 27 nieces and nephews, including John and Erin Guilliams of Lebanon.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, at the Kreamer and Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Rt. 72 and Camp Meeting Rd., Jonestown.
