Ione Faye Gineste, 85, Gas, died Saturday, July 25, 2015, at Allen County Regional Hospital in Iola.
Ione was born July 8, 1930, in Mapleton, the daughter of Newton G. and Lula Mae (Needham) Myrick. She graduated from Blue Mound High School in 1948 and Kansas City Secretarial School in 1949.
On Oct. 11, 1950, Ione married Billy B. Bills in Bentonville, Ark. They had two children, Craig and Becky. Ione worked for Atomic Energy Communication of Kansas City for two years. The family moved to Iola in 1960. Billy preceded her in death Jan. 23, 1973. She has worked for Welcome Wagon, JC Penney, Idea Shop and Keys Overall Factory in Fort Scott, before working for the Kansas Department of Agriculture and Kansas Department of Transportation for 25 years.
She was a member of the After 5 EHU and was an active member in her church, the Community of Christ.
Ione married Charles L. Gineste of Moran in 1974. He survives. Other survivors include her daughter Becky Linthicum and husband Randy, LaHarpe, and son Craig Bills and wife, Mary, Springfield, Mo.; stepdaughter Tammy Miller and husband Rick, Moran; brother Ralph (Mike) Myrick and wife Pat, Pleasanton; four grandsons, two granddaughters and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Mapleton Cemetery in Mapleton.
