Howard Thomas Thornhill died Friday, March 25, 2011, at his home in Tulsa Okla.
He was born Nov. 27, 1941, in Iola, to Marsh and Grace Thornhill, who preceded him in death.
He retired in 1991 from Midwest Laboratories in Tulsa. Howard was involved in Tulsa Toastmaster and enjoyed his bicycle club. In 1991, he joined the Bikecentennial to take a 3 months self-contained tour from coast to coast. He graduated from Iola High School in 1959 and attended Pittsburg State College where he graduated with a master’s degree in chemistry.
He is survived by a sister, Rita Marnell, Iola; sons, Tom, Fort Scott, and Dwayne, Tulsa; and three granddaughters.
Family and friends are invited to a tribute to his life at 9 a.m. on April 7, 2011 at The New Greenery before leaving for Highland Cemetery for graveside services at 10 o’clock.
