Herman Delose Jackman, 91, of Moran died Friday, Feb. 19, 2010, at his home.
He was born Aug. 22, 1918, in Gas, to Henry Herman and Cecil Faye (Pope) Jackman. He attended Gas and Iola schools.
As a young man he worked for Pet Milk Company. He operated Jackman Brothers Construction for most of his adult life. In later years he worked for Klein Tool, Inc. retiring in 1987.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapshooting.
On July 17, 1938, he married Florence Alliene Gay. She died Oct. 29, 2008.
He is survived by eight children, Dale and his wife, Elaine, LaHarpe, Donna and her husband, Otis Smith, Moran, Janet and her husband, Bob Houk, Moran, Jerry, Moran, Henry and his wife, Connie, Moran, Barbara Stotler, Iola, Betty and her husband, Howard Randall, Ottawa, and Mike and his wife, Jennifer, Elsmore; a sister, Elnora Stanley, Humboldt; a brother, Marvin, Moran; 24 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Five grandchildren, Jennifer Hale, Terri Houk Wagner, Greg Jackman, Ryan Jackman and Michael Laver, died earlier.
Cremation has taken place.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Moran Cemetery with Chaplain Lloyd Houk officiating.
