Harold Edwin “Hal” Shue, 69, of Gas died Friday, April 16, 2010, at his home.
He was born Sept. 21, 1940, in Fredonia, to Harold Earl and Thelma (McGregor) Shue. He grew up in Fredonia and graduated from high school there.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1958 to 1961. Following an honorable discharge, he attended business school.
He worked as a data entry clerk for the Internal Revenue Service, drove a school bus and later owned and operated Main Street Cafe in Mound City. He moved to Moran in 2007 from Mound City and had lived in Gas since last year.
He enjoyed visiting, watching “Mash” and “Bonanza,” following the Giants and 49ers and playing bingo. He was a member of Humboldt Christian Church.
He is survived by three daughters, Michelle Chambers, Lincoln, Neb., Krystal Bundy and her husband, Ricky, and Rhonda Charley and her husband, Louis, Gas; four sisters, Mabel Lour, Ann Kelly, Vicki Bolton and Patricia Oliver; and nine grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial services will be at 5 p.m. Friday at Humboldt Christian Church. The Rev. Mark Sizemore will officiate.
