Grace Fern “Billie” Parsons, 97, Iola, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016, at Windsor Place in Iola.
She was born Oct. 18, 1919, near Uncas, Okla. Grace was the second of four children born to William J. and Ida (Cafferty) Anderson. Grace grew up in Newkirk, Okla., attending school there. Following school, the family moved to Wichita in the 1930s. Grace worked at Boeing and Beechcraft in Wichita during World War II. While working at Beechcraft, she met her future husband, Jesse. In 1945, Grace was united in marriage to Jesse Edward Parsons in Bentonville, Ark. This union was blessed with one daughter, Myrna. They made home in Wichita until moving to a farm near Moran in 1955. Grace was a former member of the Christian Church of Uncas, Okla. She was active in the Moran Christian Church. Grace enjoyed crocheting, fishing, cooking and visiting with friends, but her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ida Anderson; her husband, Jesse Parsons on March 17, 1992; her sister, Florence George; and two brothers, Clyde Anderson and Jack Anderson.
Grace is survived by her daughter, Myrna Wildschuetz and husband Jim, Moran; grandchildren, Andy Wildschuetz, Moran, Jamie Pjesky and husband Aaron, McPherson; brother-in-law, Eugene Parsons, Elsmore; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Moran Christian Church, Moran. Burial will follow in the Moran Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel, Moran.
