Georgia Lea Frazell of Iola died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan. She was 85 years old, and passed away on her and husband Wendy’s 67th wedding anniversary.

Georgia was born April 14, 1926, in Virgil, to the late Donald R. Blohm and Violet I. (Hays) Blohm. She grew up in Iola and attended Iola schools.

On Dec. 28, 1944, Georgia married Wendell W. Frazell. She worked for Burcham Grocery, the Idea Shop, and Midland Brake. Throughout her life she loved gardening, sewing, canning and cooking for family gatherings. Her favorite things were her family, sporting events, and her Kansas Jayhawks.

She is survived by her husband of the home; a daughter, Linda Monninger and husband Joe of Iola; three sons, Kent Frazell and wife Peggy, Chanute, Craig Frazell and wife Sharon, Kincaid, and Jay Don Frazell and wife Tammi, Iola; 10 grandchildren, Denise Umphenour and husband Gary, Lee Anne Ewing and husband Tom, Scott Monninger, Tara Small and husband Chad, Clete Frazell and wife Jill, Curt Frazell, Preston Frazell, Hunter Frazell, Chelsey Brooks, and Connor Frazell; seven great-grandchildren, Makenzi Umphenour, Madison Umphenour, Sydney Ewing, Brock Small, Cade Small, Bo Small, and Gage Frazell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Ray Blohm, and a sister, Delores Heffron.

Cremation has taken place.

Visitation will be 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. Burial will take place at a later date. Memorial gifts to Allen County Home Health may be left with the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola, which is in charge of arrangements.
