George Louis Evans, 76, died Monday, Feb. 15, 2010.
He was the son of the late George W. and Virginia Sophia (Wenzel) Evans. He served in the U.S. Army and retired from Plibrico as a draftsman.
He is survived by his wife, Janice (McGowan) Evans, Iola; his mother-in- law, MaryRose McGowan, Iola; his children; Taylor and Shane Evans, both of Iola, George and his wife, Sharon Evans, Park Forest, Ill., Kenneth Evans, Monterey, Calif., Clyde Wynne, Jane, Mo., Debbie and her husband, Troy Preston, West Fork, Ark., Leona Evans, Goodland, Lisa Jett, Iola, Bonnie and her husband, Jeremiah Liggett, McPherson, and Amanda Blake, Park Forest, Ill.; his grandchildren, Julie, Bobby, Kelly, Angie, Tracie, Laura, Sherry, Andrew, Alex, Brianne, Morgan, Dakota, Kylie, Morgan, Demitruis, Destiny and David; and eight great-grandchildren.
A son, James Evans, died earlier.
Private family services will be at a later date in Fayetteville, Ark., National Cemetery.
