 Evangelist Aaron Eugene “Gene” Koons, 55, Lawrenceburg, Ky., and formerly of Winchester died Tuesday, March 23, 2010, at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.
He was born March 22 1955, in Colony, to the late Claude Aaron and Arlene May Tippie Koons.
He was serving as minister of Corinth Christian Church in Lawrenceburg. He attended Ozark Christian College and previously served as pastor at Rosalia Christian Church and Winchester Church of Christ. He serve twice as minister of Corinth Christian Church in Lawrenceburg and provided services at numerous revivals and many churches.
He was an avid supporter of Camp Calvary in Mackville, Ky., where he served as Dean. He also supported Shechem Ministries in Anderson County, Kentucky. He enjoyed fishing and camping.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sharon Elaine McAtee Koons; three daughters, Arianne Elaine Koons and Megan Erin Koons, Lawrenceburg, and Amber Elisha Koons, Carlisle, Ohio; and a sister Claudia and her husband, Floyd Martin, Kansas City.
Interment was in Oakland Christian Church Cemetery in Falmouth, Ky.
Memorial services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at First Christian Church in Garnett.
