Freda Maxine Morlan, age 99, of Iola, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2019, at Allen County Hospital, Iola.
She was born Jan. 1, 1920, in rural Erie, the daughter of Luther Everett and Mary Ann (Mitchell) Scoggin.
She married LeRoy James Doc Morlan on Feb. 2, 1938 in rural Erie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Mary Ann Scoggin; husband, LeRoy Doc Morlan; one sister, Vida Fern Lowe; one brother, Lloyd Everett Scoggin; one grandson, Scott Wayne Walters; one great grandson, Nicholas Wayne Clearwater; one great granddaughter, Christy Lynn Bicknell; and daughter-in-law, Agnes Marie (Gambill) Morlan.
Freda is survived by her children, Joan Marie Miller and husband Wardell of Iola; Janet Louise Walters and husband Jerry of Bonner Springs; Roy Everett Morlan of Wichita; Linda Sue Troxel of Topeka, Kansas; and Ethel LeAnn Seibert and husband Chuck of Iola; 15 grandchildren; and 34 great grandchildren, 28 great-great grandchildren and one great-great-great grandchild..
A visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola. A graveside service will follow the visitation in Highland Cemetery, 1800 North Cottonwood, Iola.
Memorial contributions may be made to the The Foundry (formerly Trinity United Methodist Church in Iola) and may be left in care of the funeral home.
