Fred Hart

Frederick Joseph “Fred” Hart, age 77, of Iola, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018, at Windsor Place, Iola.

Fred was born on Sept. 15, 1940, in Preston, Mo., to Sherman Edgar Hart, Sr. and Mabel Lucy Miller Hart. Fred attended school in Macks Creek and Kansas City, Mo. He later received a GED.

Fred worked for Ford Motor Co., in Kansas City, Mo., for 16½ years, then later for the Carousel Company in Kansas City, Mo., delivering children’s rides to various places all over the United States.

Fred was a jokester. He liked to make people laugh because it made his day to see others smile and be happy. Fred loved his grandchildren, loved spending time with them, and enjoyed watching them play sports.

Fred is survived by his three daughters, Mari-ah Vargas-Garcia and husband, Leonel, LaHarpe; Velvey Hackett, Estacada, Ore.; Brandi Vargas and husband, Abraham, Columbia, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, Alejandro, Gabriela, Viviana Vargas-Garcia, LaHarpe; Alexander Hart, Abigail Hackett, Ayla Hart, Estacada, Ore.; Jaydon Callen, Clayton Callen, Conner Murray, and Sidney Murray, Columbia, Mo.; one sister, Alma Quick, Kansas City, Mo.; one brother, Sherman Edgar Hart, Jr., Macks Creek, Mo.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mary Rogers.

According to his wishes, Fred was cremated. He will be inurned at a later date by his daughters.
