Forcine Lena Callaway, 90, Iola, died Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017, at Windsor Place in Iola.
She was born Dec. 10, 1926, in Carlyle, the daughter of Frank and Sarah (Reaves) Gibbons. Forcine grew up in the Carlyle area.
Forcine married James R. Callaway in 1954 in Iola. This union was blessed with four sons and three daughters.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing crocheting and drawing. She also enjoyed her animals.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Sarah Gibbons;; two sons, Steve Callaway and Jim Callaway; and two brothers, Francis Gibbons and Patrick Gibbons.
Forcine is survived by her husband, James Callaway, of the home; two sons, Joe Callaway, Iola, and Jeff Callaway and wife Aimee, Iola; three daughters, Teresa Murphey and husband Ed, Iola, Kansas; Carol Settlemyer and husband Rick, Colony, and Melissa Scott Shawnee; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, at Highland Cemetery in Iola. Contributions in her memory are suggested to the Allen County Animal Rescue Facility and may be left with the funeral home. Condolences can be left at www.feuerbornfuneral.com.
