Elizabeth Shaw, 97, of Iola died Monday, May 3, 2010, at her home in Iola.
She was born Jan. 16, 1913, in Lost Springs, to Albert and Kate (Pickett) Drury. She grew up in the Selma area and graduated from Kincaid High School in 1932.
On Nov. 8, 1942, she married Wallace Shaw at her parents’ home near Selma.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Iola and Welda School Board. She was a 4-H leader and Sunday school teacher. She liked to sew, quilt and tend to her flower garden.
She is survived by her daughters, Melvina Jones and her husband, Charles, Potwin, and Shirley Shaw, Iola; four grandchildren, Tina Dudley, Great Falls, Mont., Tamera Ostrander and her husband, Jeremy, Glenwood, Iowa, Travis Vermillion and his wife, Dawn, Kincaid, and Craig Jones and his wife, Julie, Papillion, Neb.; stepgranddaughter, Teena Lutz and her husband, Gerald, Garnett; 13 great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a niece, LaJune Bodenhamer and her husband, Glen, Garnett.
A daughter, Wilma Vermillion, died earlier.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Iola. Burial will follow in Lone Elm Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Chapel in Moran.
