Dorothy (Leach) Ware, 92, of Lebanon, N.H., died Friday, March 18, 2011, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon. 
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia W. Schumacher, Hanover, N.H.; her son-in-law, Wayne Ryherd, Iola, and five grandchildren, including Taylor Ryherd and Tiffany Riley, Iola.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Donald Ware, in 1997; two sons, Donald Jr. in 1948 and Malcolm in 1986; and her daughter, Natalie W. Ryherd of Iola in 2007.
She was born on Sept. 9, 1918, in Concord, N.H., to Judge Eugene W. and Katharine (Paige) Leach. She attended Concord schools and graduated from Westover School in Middlebury, Conn. in 1936. She then attended Copley School of Design in Boston, Mass. 
She married Donald Ware during World War II on Aug. 1, 1942. They lived in Concord for many years before moving to New London, N.H., in 1963. She then lived in Sutton, N.H., from 1980 until moving to Harvest Hill in Lebanon in 2003. 
She enjoyed sports, especially cross country and downhill skiing, as well as golf, tennis, hiking, walking and sailing. She was accomplished at cutting wooden jigsaw puzzles, knitting, needlepoint and oil painting.
Cremation has taken place.
The family will gather at a later date to disperse of her ashes at all the places the family enjoyed  including the ocean, Mount Kearsarge and Colby Point. Some remains will be buried in Old Main Street Cemetery in New London.
