Doris Shay, born June 24, 1931, died Tuesday, May 10, 2016.
Doris was born in Topeka, the daughter of Mark and Ruth Rankin. Doris devoted her life to her family as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She graduated from Highland Park High School and spent most of her life in the Tecumseh and Topeka areas.
She is survived by her sons, Doug Shay, Iola, and Steve Shay, Alamosa, Colo.; her sister, Shirley Boaz; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many friends that will miss her dearly.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Shay; her parents and older brother, Bill Rankin.
A graveside interment is today at Rochester Cemetery in Topeka next to her sweetheart and love of her life, Harry.
