Iola native Don Eugene Hoffmeier, 89, of Joplin, Mo., died Sunday, March 2, 2025, at his home.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 17, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery near Springfield, Mo.
Hoffmeier was born on July 12, 1935, in Iola, the son of Glen and Ada Hoffmeier.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
He married Lucille Thomas on June 25, 1960. She preceded him in death.
Don is survived by his second wife Sharon (Stotler) Hoffmeier; sons, Mike of Joplin, Steve (Suzanne) of Greenville, Ill., and Doug (DaNiece) of Mustang, Okla.; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two siblings and a niece.
