David Wayne Masquelier, 56, died Thursday, April 5, 2012, in Afton, Okla. He had been ill a few days. 

He was born July 9, 1955, in Iola, to William and Wilma Dean (Remington) Masquelier. David was raised in and attended school in Iola. Eventually, he pursued and received his general education development diploma (G.E.D.) David enjoyed all types of technology, going to movies, visiting with friends and family and spending time with his dog, Shorty. He was a member of Crossroads Clubhouse in Tulsa, Okla., and Trinity Baptist Church in Afton.

He is survived by an uncle, Bob and his wife, Mary Remington, Broken Arrow, Okla.; an aunt, Helen and her husband, Art Dyer, Russellville, Ark.; and aunt, Lavon and her husband, Harry Suker, Utah; numerous cousins and his pet and companion, Shorty.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Karen Masquelier, infant brother, Stephen Masquelier; and fiancee, Jan Hansen.

Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Baptist Church in Afton under the direction of Adcock Funeral Home. A private graveside service will take place at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Pittsburg.
