Daniel Martin Hamilton Jr., 71, St. Louis, passed away peacefully, Thursday, May 4, 2017, at St. Anthony’s Hospital, St. Louis.
He was born Dec. 7, 1945, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Daniel Martin Hamilton Sr. and Sue Ruggles Hamilton. In his early childhood he lived in Maysville, Ky., then moved to Florence, Ky., where he graduated from Boone County High School in 1964. That same year he married Gwendolyn Johnson. They had two children. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a bachelor’s degree and worked in manufacturing, retiring from Johnson Controls Inc. in 2008.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, his dog Bella, talking about cars and sitting on the beach. He also enjoyed volunteering in his church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Sue Hamilton, and his sister, Juanita Watkins.
He is survived by his daughter, Tina Peres and husband Russell, LaHarpe, his son, Daniel Martin the III, St. Louis, and his former wife, Gwendolyn J. Hamilton, Iola.
Cremation has taken place. A private service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Heart Association or a no-kill animal shelter in your area.
