The Rev. Clyde Lawrence Noyce, 79, died Thursday, June 3, 2010, in Subiaco, Ark.
He was born Aug. 20, 1930, in Mullinville, to Harold Alfred and Nellie Evelyn (Kizer) Noyce.
He served churches in Le Roy, Aliceville, Neosho Falls, Cherryvale, Liberty, Silver Lake, Gas, LaHarpe, Kincaid, Selma and Rossville. In Iola, he served Trinity United Methodist Church. He retired from ministry in the United Methodist Church in 1994 after 35 years of service as an ordained elder and deacon in churches in the Kansas East Conference and continued service as Pastor Emeritus after his retirement.
He served 11 years on the USD 257 school board in Iola with part of his tenure as president.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy “Dottie” (Simpfendorfer) Noyce, of the home; five children, Larry and his wife, Angie, Plano, Texas, Tom, Emporia, Tim and his wife, Pam, Olathe, Tina and her husband, Charles Mosley, of the home in Subiaco, and Lisa and her husband, Greg Neff, Olathe; nine grandchildren, Taylor and Kami Noyce, Plano, Ryann and Bella Noyce, Olathe, Shawn Noyce, Emporia, Leslie Dobbs, Fort Scott, Samantha (Mosley) Hoing, Coal Hill, Ark., and Emily and Molly Neff, Olathe; a brother, Edwin Clark, Dallas, Texas; and a sister, Jeanne Lynell (Noyce) Pilger, Marcellus, NY.
A brother, Kenneth Harold, died earlier.
Prior to his death, he made the decision to donate his body to the Medical Education and Research Institute.
Visitation with the family in Iola will be at 1 p.m. June 19 with a memorial service at 2 p.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church. The Rev. Trudy Kenyon Anderson will officiate.
