Charlotte Arvada (Lammon) Swift, 86, Colony, passed away Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018, at Parkview Heights, Garnett.
She was born in Hartman, Colo., on Jan. 29, 1932, to Jay Lammon and Ora Dill Lammon. She met the love of her life while still in high school, and married Robert Elmer “Bob” Swift on April 15, 1950, in Vinita, Okla. They made their home in Colony in 1953. Charlotte worked for Gates Rubber Company as a braider operator for 25 years, retiring in 1992. In her spare time she loved gardening, planting flowers, and cooking for her family.
Charlotte is survived by her two sons, Dale Swift, Colony, and Jack (Rosslyn) Swift, Kansas City, Mo.; grandchildren, Tim Hoffman, Tracy Garrett, Stephanie Plaschka, Brett Swift, Jessica Kinnett, Brian Meyerholtz, David Meyerholtz, John Meyerholtz and Matthew Talmadge; 21 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, on July 10, 2017; a daughter, Diana Meyerholtz; her brother, Lawrence Lammon; and her two sisters, Betty Powers and Nancy Lammon.
Services are Saturday at the Colony Community Church in Colony. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. The funeral service follows at 1.
