L. Catherine Belcher Yocham went for a walk with the angels into her heavenly home, Wednesday, May 11, 2016.
Born in Howell County, Mo., Nov. 4, 1925, to John T. and Willa Rena Belcher, the third child of nine, whom have all preceded her in death but one sister, Norma Goodenough, Great Bend.
July 4, 1945, she married Henry C. Yocham in Pratt. He preceded her in death June 28, 1998. They made their first home in Colorado Springs, moved to Pratt for a brief while, and then settled in and around the Iola area until 1957 when they moved to Gas City. She remained there until entering Tara Gardens May 17, 2012.
Catherine was a loving and devoted wife, a store clerk, nurse’s aid, daycare provider, homemaker and mother to four daughters, Rena (Dennis) Traw, Emporia, Carolyn (Jack) McGowen, Erie, Mary Ann (Don) Rehmert, Gas, and Uanna (Dan) Stotler, Iola. She had 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Family and friends will meet at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel in Iola at 10 a.m. Monday for visitation before leaving for the Gas City Cemetery for graveside services.
