Carol Lynn Sinclair, 66, Iola, died Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
She was born June 1, 1944, on a farm west of Humboldt, the daughter of Raymond C. and Madelene (Hartwig) Ostrander. She attended rural elementary school at Cuppy, west of Humboldt, and was graduated from Humboldt High School in 1961. She attended Iola Junior College and made her home in Iola.
Over the years, Carol worked for the Agriculture Stabilization Conservation Service (ASCS) office, H.L. Miller & Son Dress Factory and Carder Oil.
She was married to Harry L. Sinclair. Her memberships included the American Legion Auxiliary and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Humboldt.
She is survived by her husband of the home; three children, Todd and his wife, Gina, Andover, Traci Sinclair, Iola, and Tim and his wife, Debra, Wichita; eight grandchildren, Kerstin, Chance, Castin, Halye, Todd Jr., Grant, Emma and Sarah; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jack Ostrander, Lucas, Texas, Keith Ostrander, Winchester, and Ben Ostrander, Salina; and six sisters, Beverly Cox, Wichita, Donna Lower-Nord, Iola, Marilyn Carpenter, Grand Island, Neb., Janice Anderson, Bella Vista, Ark., Madlyn Adams, Olathe, and Judith Rutledge, Humboldt.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Homer Eugene Ostrander, and two infant sisters, Joyce and Kathy.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Wesley United Methodist Church in Iola. The Rev. Trudy Kenyon Anderson will officiate.
Cremation has taken place. Inurnment will be at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Humboldt at a later date.
Memorial gifts to the Carol L. Sinclair Memorial Fund may be left with the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola, which is in charge of arrangements.
