Carl Richard Worthington, 84, of Presbyterian Village, Fort Scott, died Friday, June 11, 2010, at Mercy Health Center.
He was born Nov. 23, 1925, in Xenia, to Lester Coy and Zula Walker Worthington. He was a 1942 graduate of Moran High School. 
On Sept. 18, 1943, he married Irene Lucille Young in Moran. They liked to travel, especially to Colorado. She died Dec. 27, 2004.
In his earlier years he worked for the railroad, owned a farm and owned and operated a service station in Bronson.
He was a member of Bronson United Methodist Church, 50-year member of Bronson Masonic Lodge and a member of Bronson Ruritan Club.
Survivors include a son, Mike and his wife Leana, Nevada, Mo.; three daughters, Betty Worthington, Fort Scott, Karen Foster and her husband, Dick, Coffeyville, and Linda Marsh and her husband, Galen, Minot, N.D.; seven grandchildren, Wayne Warren and his wife, Shelly, Mike Warren and his wife, Donna, Ashley Coy Worthington, Tammie Miller and her husband, Brad, Shannon Worthington and his wife, Tanya, Matthew Marsh and his wife, Jessica, and Jacob Marsh and his wife, Samantha; six stepgrandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several stepgreat-grandchildren. 
Two brothers, Bill and Raymond, died earlier.
The Rev. Rusty Newman will officiate at 10:30 a.m. Friday graveside services in Moran Cemetery. 
Friends may call at Cheney Witt Fort Scott Chapel from noon Tuesday until noon Thursday. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Cheney Witt Bronson Chapel.
