Billie Rae Gildart, 72, rural Thayer, passed away Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015, at Via Christi-St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Thayer Cemetery under the direction of Loran Fawcett Chapel of Neodesha. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association and may be left at Loran Fawcett Chapel.
Billie was born Oct. 20, 1943 in Waverly, to William R. and Edna E. (Bonner) Houston. She graduated from Le Roy High School. She moved to Chanute in 1961 and worked for two years at the Ashley Clinic and then for Humboldt National Bank as a teller from 1963 to 1972.
Billie married Neil Gildart on May 31, 1969, in Las Vegas. They made their home in rural Thayer.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Brian and wife Tara Gildart, rural Thayer; sisters Patsy and husband Larry Cann, Pomona, and Barbara and husband Aurthur Lake, Westphalia, and Marcella Trostle, Le Roy; one brother-in-law, Lester Petty, Chanute; and three grandchildren, Taybree, Bryson and Brogan Gildart.
In addition to her parents, she was proceded in death by a sister, Judy Petty, and a granddaughter, Tanner Gildart.
