Beverly J. Taylor-Middleton, 74, of Iola died Thursday, March 22, 2012, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita.

Beverly was born May 28, 1937, in Adrian, Minn., the daughter of Raymond and Iva (Baumann) Lawrence. She grew up in Adrian and graduated valedictorian of Adrian High School Class of 1955.

On June 20, 1955, Beverly married Lloyd Paul Taylor at St. Adrian Catholic Church. They made their home in Adrian and Park Rapids, Minn., before moving to Iola in 1965. Lloyd preceded her in death on Sept. 26, 1998. Beverly married Benjamin C. Middleton on Sept. 30, 2000, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Iola. They made their home in Iola.

She has worked as a bookkeeper for the City of Iola, Colt Energy, KIKS Radio and St. John’s Catholic Church. Her memberships included St. John’s Catholic Church and Altar Society, Kappa Alpha chapter of Phi Tau Omega and American Legion Auxiliary where she had been a member for 38 years and served as past president.

Beverly loved sports and followed the games of her sons and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband; her five children, Doug Taylor, Iola, Sara Taylor, Springfield, Mo., Dean Taylor and his wife, Kelly, Andover, Terrance Taylor and his wife, Carol, Olpe, and David Taylor and his wife, Penny, Iola; two stepchildren, Monika King and her husband, Stephen, Atchison, and Benedikt Middleton and his wife, Mandy, Iola; a brother, Ronald Lawrence, Adrian; a sister, Raedelle Wallace, Kennewick, Wash.; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and 12 stepgrandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel in Iola.

Parish Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Tuesday followed by the celebration of the Mass at 10:30 a.m., both at St. John’s Catholic Church in Iola.

Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Fort Scott National Cemetery.
