Beverly Jean Ewing, 68, of Iola died Saturday, May 7, 2011, at Allen County Hospital in Iola.
She was born Aug. 12, 1942, in Neosho, Mo., to Ernest David and Faye Vivian (Michael) Malloy. The family moved to Iola and she graduated from Iola High School.
On Sept. 11, 1961, she married Jessie Ewing. They made their home in Iola. She worked as a nurse’s aide for several years at Countryside Estates.
She is survived by her husband of the home; three sons, Keith, Chanute, Kevin, LaHarpe, and Kelly, Wichita; a daughter, Rhonda Ingraham and her husband, Larry, Chanute; five brothers, Mike Malloy, Chanute, Roy Lee Malloy, Osage City, Dennis Malloy and his wife, Kathy, Iola, Harvey Malloy and his wife, Sharon, Wichita, and David Malloy and his wife, Kathy, Humboldt; three sisters, Winona Leslie and her husband, Mike, Iola, Debra Lindholm and her husband, John, Houston, Texas, and Sondra Malloy, LaHarpe; and seven grandchildren, Tyler, Hunter, Trevor, Drake and Laney Ewing and Lizzy and Sammy Ingraham.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Teresa, brothers, Del and Al, and infant brothers, Ronald and Donald.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel in Iola.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Wesley United Methodist Church in Iola. The Rev. Trudy Kenyon Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Iola.
