Betty Jo Kilby, 86, of Iola died Sunday, July 24, 2011, at her home.
She was born July 2, 1925, in Yates Center, to Julius W. and Elizabeth M. (Hamilton) Linde. She graduated from Yates Center High School in 1943.
On Jan. 25, 1945, Betty Jo married James A. Kilby Jr. They made their home in Iola except for a few years spent in Odessa, Texas, and Yates Center. SHE worked for Schell Cleaners from 1970 to 1975 and for Berg Manufacturing from 1975 until 1990. He died on Feb. 18, 2002.
She was a member of Truth Church in Iola.
She is survived by two children, Connie Alexander and James J. “Jim” and his wife, Sharon, all of Iola; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Linde, Yates Center, a son-in-law, Grant Alexander, a daughter-in-law, Chris Kilby, and a great-great-granddaughter, Riley Jo Silvey.
Cremation has taken place.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Highland Cemetery in Iola. The Rev. Terry Mays will officiate.
