Robert “Bert” L. Heiman, 66, passed away Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.
He was born July 26, 1946, to Norbert and Leila (Jacobsen) Heiman. He grew up on the family farm south of Piqua, where he farmed until 2006 when poor health forced him to retire and move to Iola.
Robert was united in marriage to Helen “Hill” Watts on Nov. 16, 1999.
He was preceded in death by his father, Norbert, in 1967, stepfather, Paul Massoth, in 1989, and his mother, Leila, in 1993.
Survivors include his wife, Helen, of the home; three stepdaughters, Hope Watts-Garber and spouse, Steven, Iola, Misty Kemmerer and spouse, Larry, and Heather Kinzle, all of Neosho Rapids; seven grandchildren, Andrew Garber, Jayden, Justice and Shailee Kemmerer and Devon, Kevin and Keith Kinzle; one sister, Pamela Kelly and spouse Richard, Las Vegas, and one niece, Charity Kelly, Las Vegas.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family at a memorial service at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Church of the Nazarene, 1235 N. Walnut St. in Iola. Memorial gifts may be left in care of the Iola First Church of the Nazarene.
