Burma June “B.J.” Gonzalez, 76, Moran, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2015, at Olathe Medical Center.
She was born in Carneiro on May 17, 1938 to Wayne and Thelma (Brady) McCall. She was later joined by two brothers, Dan and Randy McCall. Her family lived in several places before settling on a farm outside of Moran. She graduated from Moran High School in 1956.
Burma married Cyrus “Bud” Townsley in 1956 and they made their home in Wichita, where they raised three children, Lance, Billy and Sandra. She later married Ray Gonzalez and they resided in Bronson.
Burma loved camping, gardening, flowers and playing cards.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ray in 2013; and her son, Lance, this past January.
Burma is survived by two children, Bill Townsley and wife Celia, Oceanside, Calif., and Sandra Drake and husband Daryl, Moran; two brothers, Dan McCall and wife Donna and Randy McCall and wife Audrey, Moran; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Moran. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
