Arthur Junior Kyser, Elsmore, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2015, at Prairie Mission Retirement Home in St. Paul.
He was born April 25, 1928, in Savonburg, to Arthur E. and Florence (Hawkins) Kyser.
He graduated from Hepler Rural High School in 1946. Arthur married Anna Nadine Tippie on Sept. 18, 1949, in Elsmore. They celebrated 65 years of marriage last fall. Early in their marriage, he worked in Kansas City at Westinghouse and Vendo before returning to own and operate the Kyser DX Bulk Fuel Business in Humboldt. He was also engaged in farming.
Arthur enjoyed playing pool and a good game of pitch. He was a member of the Elsmore United Methodist Church; Virginia Lodge No. 315 of Savonburg, receiving a 60-year pin; Fort Scott Scottish Rite Bodies; and Mirza Shrine. He had served as mayor of Elsmore, past board of directors for Craw-Kan Telephone and Craw-Kan Communications and a Past Master of Virginia Lodge No. 315.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Cecil Kyser, and sister, Margaret Wooldridge.
Arthur was survived by his wife; sons, Steve Kyser and wife Annette, Walnut, and Greg Kyser and wife Betsy, Topeka; daughter, Robin Christian and husband Darrell, Iola; grandchildren, Kimberly Murry and husband Aaron, Amanda Kyser, Denton Christian, Karlie Kyser and Derek Kyser; great-granddaughters, Riley and Reece Murry; three sisters-in-law, Etta Mae Kyser, Erie, Delores Wilson, Elsmore, and Pat Tippie, Humboldt; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Elsmore United Methodist Church, with burial to follow in Elsmore Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Moran.
