Alexandrea Marie Peres, 17, LaHarpe, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2016.
Alle was born Jan. 14, 1999, in Chanute, the daughter of Michael Wayne and Michelle Ann (Hess) Peres. She attended LaHarpe Elementary, McKinley Elementary, Iola Middle School and was currently a junior at Iola High School. She was always an honor roll student and a member of the National Society of High School Scholars. Alle was an accomplished artist, winning numerous awards for her talent. She won Best of Show in the Pioneer League Art Show two years in a row.
Alle also loved raising bulldogs. She and her bulldog, George Jr., showed and placed in national competitions. She also participated in the Heart of America Bulldog Club.
Survivors include her parents, Michael and Michelle Peres, LaHarpe; brother Zachery Peres and wife Kaci, Iola, and their children, Cadin, Maddilyn and Isabella; grandparents, Raymond and Dorothy Hess, Iola, Sharon Brooks, Iola, and James and Rita Peres, LaHarpe; and uncles Michael Hess and wife Beth, Battle Ground, Ind., Russell Peres and wife Tina, LaHarpe, and Trevis Mayfield, Chanute. She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Emma Nicole Peres.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Wesley United Methodist Church in Iola with burial to follow in the LaHarpe Cemetery.
