Alice B. Price, 83, of Iola died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011, at Moran Manor.
She was born Jan. 16, 1928, in Topeka, to Howard and Jennie (Mullins) Whitney. The family moved to Iola and then to St. Louis, Mo., when she was 11.
She married Herman Kirkpatrick in 1943. He died in 1944. She returned to Iola in 1950 and was married to Darrell Dudley. He died in 1963. On Sept. 4, 1970, she married Warren Murphey. They made their home in La-Harpe. While living in LaHarpe, she sold Avon products. He died Oct. 2, 1987. She married Fred Price in 1991, and they lived in Billings, Mont.. He died in 2002 and she returned to Iola.
She was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars auxiliaries for more than 35 years.
She is survived by her companion, John Heard, Iola; a son, Bill Kirkpatrick and his wife, Bobbie, Billings; two grandchildren, Billy, Kansas City, and Shelly, Cherryvale; two great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
A brother, Paul Whitney, and a sister, Georgia Chapman, died earlier.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel in Iola. Chaplain Lloyd W. Houk will officiate. Burial will be in LaHarpe Cemetery.
