Alice E. Hansen, 87, of Bronson died Saturday, April 10, 2010, at Allen County Hospital in Iola.
She was born Oct. 6, 1922, in Clarion, Iowa, the daughter of Ralph E. and Mary Showers Morris. 
On Dec. 19, 1942, she married Herbert Hansen in Princeton, Mo. He died July 7, 1989. 
She graduated from Clarion High School in 1939 and Broadlawns School of Nursing in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1942. She worked as a registered nurse at Myrtue Memorial Hospital, Harlan, Iowa, and Salem Lutheran Nursing Home in Elk Horn, Iowa. She lived in Elk Horn until moving to Bronson in 1984 to be near her children. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Liberty Chapter, Marne, Iowa. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo, quilting, knitting and oil painting. She also liked to care for her cats.
She is survived by two sons, Ralph E. and his wife, Grete, St. Mary’s, Ga., and Robert M., Bronson; two daughters, Martha Ann Farley and her husband, Jim, and Kristine Jane Pulliam, all of Bronson; five grandchildren, John W. Farley and his wife, Cheryl, Roberta Ann Sobba and her husband, Rob, Zachary Lee Hansen, Emily Kaia Pulliam and Amber Rose Pulliam; stepgrandchildren, Bruce, Kenny and Chris Horne, and the Farley children who considered her as their grandmother; three great-grandchildren; and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
A stepsister, Doris Foster, and a son-in-law, Earl Pulliam, died earlier.
Following cremation, Lloyd Houk will conduct memorial services at 2 p.m. Friday in Cheney Witt Bronson Chapel. 
Private burial will take place in the U.S. National Cemetery.
