C.J. “Jim” Van Horn of Le Roy died Sunday evening, Nov. 13, 2011, at the Life Care Center in Burlington.
He was born on Feb. 6, 1935, in Arnold, to Clarence H. and Margaret l. Tauscher Van Horn.
On Nov. 1, 1962, he married Ruth Helman in Iola. They were the parents of three sons and later divorced.
Jim had lived in western Kansas, until moving to Quapaw, Okla. He then moved to Mildred where he lived for 11 years. He finally settled in Le Roy.
He did welding out of his welding shop. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He is survived by his sons, Roy Van Horn and his wife, Maggie, and Troy Van Horn and his wife, Mary, Baxter Springs, and David Van Horn and Jeri Vanderman, Le Roy; two grandchildren, Kendra and Daniel Van Horn; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne.
The body has been cremated.
There will be a memorial luncheon at noon on Saturday at the LaHarpe Community Center.
