Charles Wayne “Chuck” Leach, 45, of Yates Center died Sunday night, Sept. 25, 2011, at Coffey County Hospital in Burlington following an 18 month battle with cancer.
He was born Feb. 20, 1966, in Ottawa. He moved to Yates Center in 1971 and graduated from Yates Center High School.
On June 21, 1985, he and Donna Yancey were married in Miami, Okla.
Chuck worked as a carpenter in the area. He was a member of New York Valley Church of God in Yates Center.
He is survived by his wife, Donna, and his children, Ethan, Emily and Kendra Leach, all of Yates Center; a sister, Dixie Collins, Piqua; and his grandfather, Claude Turner, Yates Center and formerly of Ottawa.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra (Couts) Warren, and his grandmother, Laveta Turner.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at New York Valley Church of God in Yates Center. Burial will be in Yates Center Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at the church.
