Juanita “Ardell” Boyer, 95, died Wednesday, March 9, 2011. She had been an energetic and active 14-year resident of Lake County, Fla.
Juanita Ardell Wolford Boyer was born in 1916 to Sadie and John LeRoy Wolford in Allen County. She was one of nine children. She was raised in and attended schools in Iola.
She was involved with many services in the central Florida community. She was employed for many years in Iola as a practical nurse for Dr. Gerald Pees. She also was a docent and volunteer at the Allen County Historical Society.
In 1937, she married Harold Henry “Red” Boyer in Allen County. He is deceased.
She is survived by a son-in-law, Ronald V. Regan, Leesburg, Fla.; Judith Boyer, Chanute; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A son, Richard, Chanute, who was a captain in the U.S. Air Force died earlier, and a daughter, Barbara Regan, Leesburg, died of cancer in 2005.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. April 2 at Christ United Methodist Church, 1313 Griffin Rd., Leesburg. The Rev. James T. Holton will officiate.
Buyer’s Funeral Home of Leesburg will handle all funeral arrangements in Florida.
Boyer’s cremated remains and those of her deceased daughter, Barbara June Regan, will be transported and buried in the family plot in Iola by the Waugh, Yokum and Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola later this summer.
